A Letter to My Future Husband

Dear future husband …

Don’t worry, I’m not going Meghan Trainor on you. Hahaha…In fact I am a very simple girl. But there are some things you need to know about me. So I have to admit that I’ve been feeling a bit anxious about marriage. I recently visited my old friends where I received a multitude of questions about marriage ‘’Why I wasn’t married yet?’’. Funny how the pressure and worry of the world can disrupt your peace, right?

Dear my future husband,

I’m not going to tell you what marriage is about, you probably already know. I know this because when I let you in my life, you already pass this condition. To make it work between us, let me tell you the simple things that makes me happy….Oh no, I’m not being selfish because when I feel loved by you, I can make you feel loved too.

I don’t need diamonds nor do I need gold, instead of giving me something expensive give me your emotional bond because that has more value. I don’t need to hear the words that makes me happy or you think that satisfy me. Instead of saying, show me. I don’t need grand gestures to make me feel loved. Instead remember the little things that I love and that you love. Remember the conversations we are going to have about everything, remember the peaceful silence we are going to have because a glance at each other is more than enough.

I truly understand that marriage is not a fairy tale. We all have our flaws and I accept every one you have. It is perfectly fine to have some time alone to clear your mind from daily routines and even your thoughts but please don’t forget to share it with me.

Whenever we cannot stand each other, promise me we find a solution or clear it out before we go to bed. Whenever I forgot something remember me. Whenever I did something wrong or said something wrong, instead of being judgemental teach me and I shall learn. Whenever you did something wrong or said something wrong, accept my words about it because I’m not your foe.

I’m not telling you how to be a good man because  when I let you in my life I already trust that you are. I am grateful towards your mother for this because she raised you as a one.

These simple things I value: commitment, trust, loyalty, communication, patience, love and most of all faith. I belive when this is good between us, I don’t need to worry about our legacy.

If you can give me this, I promise you I’ll treasure you with all my heart.

With love,

Your future wife.
